We support the Big Bend Homeless Coalition’s (BBHC) mission to end homelessness locally.

BBHC provides vital services necessary to prevent and end people’s experience of homelessness, such as emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, homeless prevention, and rapid rehousing. They also compassionately and effectively meet the needs of our community’s most vulnerable, such as veterans, people with disabilities, people with long histories of homelessness, and families with minor children

We presented a $2,160 check to BBHC on Oct. 12 as part of our Borrow 4 Less – Give Back More Program, which helps them further their mission every day. We donate $10 for every eligible auto loan that our members obtain, so our members also play a role in raising these funds by financing or refinancing a vehicle at a great rate. By the end of 2017, we will have donated more than $53,000 to local charitable organizations that continue to improve lives daily.

We are also sponsoring an Access Tallahassee Day of Action at BBHC’s Hope Community on Dec. 8. This effort gives Access members along with their families, friends, and coworkers an opportunity to participate in designated service projects and offer donations too. We will be cooking and serving lunch to community residents, cleaning up debris around HOPE Community, sorting through donations, organizing donation closets, and donating much-needed family supplies.

The Big Bend Homeless Coalition’s HOPE Community is the area’s largest family emergency shelter. HOPE Community works to end family homelessness by providing residents with tools for employment and education, assistance with housing options, and access to supportive services. The necessities of daily life such as meals, laundry, clothes, and security are also provided. HOPE takes a comprehensive approach to promoting each family’s long-term self-sufficiency.

We are committed to making a difference in our community. Champions4Change is a belief that we have the power to be champions for important causes and act like champions in support of what is most important to us. Last year, we donated more than $47,000 in support of local organizations that give back to the communities where we live and work. Through direct contributions, our Borrow4Less – Give Back More Program and the many ways we support the FSU Community, we are making a difference. Our members are making a difference! Together, we all win!
