Florida State University Credit Union Executive Vice President Chuck Adcock has been chosen as a 2017 Credit Union Rock Star by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).

Adcock was the only honoree from Florida and one of just 54 Credit Union Rock Stars selected nationwide by CUNA and Credit Union Magazine. Credit Union Rock Stars are professionals whose hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm have transformed their credit unions and provided a model of service for the entire credit union industry. 2017 marks the fifth year of the awards.

Adcock, who has worked with FSU Credit Union since 1994, was a driving force behind the establishment of the Frenchtown Financial Opportunity Center (FFOC), which serves the traditionally underserved community near downtown Tallahassee. FFOC was established in 2016 and is Frenchtown’s first financial institution, providing credit union services and financial literacy resources to the community’s residents.

In 2012, Adcock helped to establish iDriveLending, a partnership between six Tallahassee-based credit unions that produces more than $70 million annually in auto loans. By combining the buying power of six credit unions, iDriveLending helps to streamline the auto loan process for local auto dealers and consumers.

FSU Credit Union President and CEO Bradley Blake says that Adcock plays an important role in advancing the credit union’s mission of serving its members and the local community.

“We’re extremely proud of Chuck and his accomplishments,” Blake said. “He’s a valuable member of the FSU Credit Union team and an asset to our local community. His concern for our community’s residents shows through his hard work and commitment to financial literacy.”

Adcock is considered one of Tallahassee’s most respected lending and financial literacy experts. He serves as a guest lecturer on financial literacy topics at Florida State University, other area colleges, local high schools, and area businesses.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized by the Credit Union National Association and Credit Union Magazine,” Adcock said. “FSU Credit Union has always emphasized serving our local community, and we value the opportunity to provide the community with valuable credit union services, while helping them take advantage of financial literacy education and resources.”

As a Credit Union Rock Star honoree, Adcock is featured in the October issue of Credit Union Magazine.
