FSU Credit Union is celebrating the 72nd International Credit Union (ICU) Day on October 15th, 2020! This year’s theme was built around “inspiring hope for a global community.” The global health crisis around the world created challenging times for many credit union members; but, Hope is a global resource that everyone has a right to feel and experience.

ICU Day became a day for credit unions to raise awareness about what it means for members around the world to have a credit union as their financial partner. This has become even more prevalent during 2020 as credit unions find new ways to assist members. In the earlier stages of ICU Day, it helped to raise funds for movements and causes and to pay homage to men and women who dedicated their lives to credit union development. Each year, ICU Day became a more unique and celebrated event for credit unions and members internationally.

Since the first ICU Day, celebrated on the third Thursday of October in 1948, credit unions have taught their communities more and more about the work they do. Credit unions are member-owned, not-for-profit organizations whose top priorities are their members. Credit unions also take steps to serve their communities. FSU Credit Union continues the credit union pledge of “people helping people” and we are dedicated to taking steps to help our members.
