Florida State University Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution, is managed and lead by its Board of Directors. In addition, a volunteer Supervisory Committee is responsible for ensuring that the credit union’s Board of Directors and leadership engage in practices and procedures to properly safeguard members’ assets. The FSU Credit Union Nominating Committee has officially nominated Douglas T. Martin, Randy McCausland, Juanita Moore, and Wayne Rhodes for the open FSU Credit Union Board of Directors positions and Dr. Nathan Crock, Scott Griswold, Patrick McDermott, Deidre Melton, and Bill Woodyard for the open Supervisory Committee positions. All Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee positions are voluntary and unpaid. We invite you to take a few minutes to learn more about the nominees.

Douglas T. Martin – Board of Directors (incumbent)
Douglas T. Martin served on the Fla. Dept. of Transportation Credit Union board since 2012 and joined the FSU Credit Union board following the merger of the two credit unions. For 43 years, he was a registered Civil Engineer in the State of Florida, and worked in various Roadway Engineering divisions within the Fla. Dept. of Transportation including Construction Inspection, Estimating, Design, Project Management and Budgeting. Mr. Martin also worked as a Consultant Engineer for four years.

Randy McCausland – Board of Directors (incumbent)
Randy McCausland is a dynamic information technology leader with over 25 years of experience in the implementation, support and management of enterprise systems and associated technology infrastructure. He currently is the Vice President of Security and Risk Management for Gartner and prior to that spent 11 years with FSU, rising to the level of Senior Director, Infrastructure, Operations and Enterprise Application Development. Mr. McCausland holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Management Information Systems from FSU, and brings a wealth of specialized IT and business knowledge expertise to the Board of Directors.

Juanita Moore – Board of Directors (incumbent)
Juanita Moore is retired after 38 years with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).  During her tenure at FDOT she served in various positions including Internal Audit, Management Review, and Bureau Chief of the Minority Programs Office.  Her last position was Bureau Chief/Manager of the Contracts Administration Office where she served for over 23 years.  The office was responsible for the prequalification of contractors and award of road and bridge construction contracts totaling over $7 billion annually.  She has a B.S. in accounting from Florida A&M University and a MBA in Management from Florida State University.  She served on the FDOT Credit Union Supervisory Committee for 11 years and served as Board Chair for 13 years.  Prior to joining FDOT, she was with the Miami office of Ernst & Ernst Certified Public Accountants.  Juanita brings a wealth of experience and will be an asset to the FSU Credit Union board.

Wayne Rhodes – Board of Directors (incumbent)
Wayne served on the board of directors with GPCE Credit Union for 31 years. He retired from Gulf Power Company after 30 years of service. He maintained his position as a board member with FSU Credit Union after both credit unions merged in 2020. Wayne has a wealth of knowledge and experience serving as a director for the credit union. Wayne has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance and a Master’s degree in Management. He is a retired stockbroker and analyst with a series 7 and 66. His extensive background in accounting and finance has enhanced his position as director with the credit union. Wayne enjoys being able to serve our credit union members in this capacity and wishes to continue being an asset as a board of director for FSU Credit Union in the years to come.

Dr. Nathan Crock – Supervisory Committee
Dr. Nathan Crock is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Scientific Computing and the new Interdisciplinary Data Science Program at Florida State University. He is a member of the Computational Intelligence Lab at FSU and directs the machine learning and artificial intelligence research efforts at NewSci Labs, where he focuses on developing AI that benefits the public and social sectors. He is a reviewer for the Frontiers in Neuroinformatics journal and an ambassador for DeepLearning.ai, for which he organizes Tallahassee’s Deep Learning meetups. Recently, he co-founded a speech-to-speech AI platform-as-a-service company called Call Simulator Inc, where he is actively CTO. Before his positions here in Tallahassee, Nathan was a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience in Jupiter, a computer vision consultant for the Intelligent Robotics Group at NASA AMES and a Data Science instructor at Zipfian Academy in San Francisco, California.

Scott Griswold – Supervisory Committee
Scott Griswold has over 20 years of experience aligning technology and security to business objectives. He has competencies surrounding a broad range of information security and corporate IT initiatives, including governance, risk and compliance, policy development, strategic planning, and operational management of personnel. Mr. Griswold has spent the last seven-plus years serving in a consulting capacity and is currently working as a Managing Security Consultant at GuidePoint Security. Previous to his current position, he served in Principal and Senior Cybersecurity Consultant positions. Prior to entering the consulting world, Mr. Griswold held multiple positions at Citizens Property Insurance, including leadership roles with responsibility for IT Asset & Vendor Management, Access Control, and IT Service Management processes.

Mr. Griswold has significant experience leading assessment teams and providing various information security services, including Security Program Reviews, Risk & Compliance Assessments, Security Program Development, vCISO, Policy Development, and Advisory Services. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Western Governors University and holds several certifications, including CISSP, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, and others.

Patrick McDermott – Supervisory Committee (incumbent)
Patrick McDermott is a Professor and Program chair at Tallahassee Community College (TCC) for the Student Life Skills area within the Division of Social Sciences which includes Career Planning, College Success, Principles of Entrepreneurship and Dynamics of Leadership.  He has been with the college since 2002 and has been fulltime faculty since 2008. Patrick earned his undergraduate degree from Flagler College in St Augustine, FL and a master’s degree from Florida State University. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree from St. Thomas University in Miami, Fla., focusing on Innovation and Leadership. In June 2021 he started teaching for Southern New Hampshire University in their online general education program as an adjunct faculty member. While at TCC he has been recognized for his work inside and outside of the classroom for promoting and fostering student success. In 2014 and 2021 he was awarded the National Institute for Staff and Organization (NISOD), Excellence Award. In 2019, he received the League for Innovation in Community Colleges, Roueche Excellence Award.  On the state level he was part of the Florida College System – Chancellor’s Leadership Seminar- Class of 2016 and Florida Campus Compact, Community Engagement Educator Award (Florida state college sector) (2015). In his free time, he enjoys going to see independent films, playing golf, discovering new restaurants, and going on weekend getaways with his wife Nicole and daughter Lillian who they homeschool.

Deidre Melton – Supervisory Committee
Deidre Melton is the Associate Vice President for Audit and Chief Risk Officer for Florida A&M University.  Deidre specializes in ‎cybersecurity, governance, risk management, and internal controls. Previously, Deidre worked for the State of Florida Auditor General’s Office performing information technology audits of educational and ‎local/state government entities. ‎Deidre serves as the Diversity & Inclusive Leadership Committee Chair for ACUA, serves on the SheLeadsTech Council for One in Tech (an ISACA foundation), Audit Committee for Leon County Clerk of Courts, and is the Chair of the Information Technology Audit Group for the State University System of Florida. She ‎earned her B.S. of Management and Master of Business Administration at Florida A&M ‎University. Additionally, Deidre is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Inspector General Investigator (CIGI), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC), and hold a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). ‎

William “Bill” Woodyard – Supervisory Committee
William (Bill) Woodyard currently serves as Chairman of the Faculty and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee at the Florida State University College of Business. He teaches Business Law and Real Estate. Prior to joining the FSU faculty in 1998, Mr. Woodyard has served as general counsel to the Florida Department of Business Regulation. He is a past recipient of the Ross Oglesby Award, which recognizes an FSU faculty or staff member who has for ten or more years exemplified the highest order of integrity, service, and commitment to students and to the university.
